3/4/24 - This is an early variation, rare "Press Button" US Paratrooper switchblade knife. The base of the blade is maker marked "Press Button Knife Co." which ultimately became "Schrade", this being the earlier variation with the release button being located on the top of the handle, instead of positioned lower into the handle like most other wartime examples found today. This earlier style is rare and highly collectible, as these were used by US Paratroopers during WW2. The blade edge shows light signs of sharpening and surface scratches. The spine of the blade has dark patina and handling discoloration as shown. The action is smooth and the blade locks and unlocks / opens with no issue. The original handle is excellent, as shown.
