11/23/21 - This is a nice example of a Colt Model 1911 issued to the US military in 1914. The gun is correct except for the barrel which was made by Springfield. It has the proper "WGP" military inspector proof on the left side of the frame. It has retained roughly half of its original high polish bluing. Most of the finish loss is on the top of the slide and on the grip straps. There is also wear around the muzzle, on the front edges of the frame, and on the high edges of the frame. There are areas of spotty oxidation and minor pitting where the areas of wear are, most noticeable on the slide. Comes with worn period-correct wood grips (mostly worn at the bottom of the left panel) and a two-tone magazine. The bore has decent rifling, but with areas of freckling and minor pitting throughout.
