11/23/21 - This is a nice example of a Type 2 Paratrooper Rifle issued to the Japanese military during WW2. This one has a partially intact mum stamp on the receiver, but it is mostly destroyed. Most of the parts are mismatched, but it is fully functional. The rear barrel band has a small piece of what looks like an original canvas tag attached. It has retained most of its finish with some minor scratchy wear around the muzzle, on the barrel, and some wear and thinning on the barrel bands. There are tiny dots of oxidation throughout. Some very small dots of surface rust on the tang and butt plate. The wood stock is nice, but the color of the butt stock does not match the front portion. There is an area with noticeable gouges on the left side, just in front of the rear barrel band. The bore is mint.
