SOLD - Unique CYQ P.38 - O serial prefix with Match Mag
1/30/18 - For those who like the "odd ball" guns, here's one for you to ponder. First, and most obvious, this gun was made out of a reworked Walther Mod HP slide. The slide has a Walther banner, marked Mod HP, and the right side is waffen stamped. This means it was once a commercial gun, then issued to the Wehrmacht. It is known that Walther sent parts to the Spreewerke factory (and vice versa) so my guess is that this slide was reworked and sent to Spreewerke. Then, in 1945, Spreewerke put it together when they were making the late war O prefix guns. The numbers are all matching including the slide, frame, barrel, locking block AND the magazine! The frame is eagle 88 proofed (Spreewerke). The slide is E/359 proofed (Walther), the barrel is CYQ marked and E/88 proofed. The locking block is E/88 proofed. The grips are Walther style, and the magazine is E/88 marked on the bottom of the spine (Spreewerke). It also has the late war "cog" hammer. Bore is somewhat corroded, though the rifling is still decently visible - I'd rate it a 4/10. Truly a late war menagerie, put together in the final days.
