6/29/22 - This is a terrific example of an original Smith & Wesson Model 48 revolver from late 1959 or early 1960. This is a scarce and desirable early example with no dash in the model, as 1959 was the first year of production. It also has a scarce 8.375in barrel with mint bore. The revolver has 98-99% of the original blue, with just a little muzzle wear on the barrel and a minor roll mark on the cylinder. Beautiful case hardening on the hammer and trigger. Excellent, unmarked grips with sharp checkering. The revolver comes with a matching numbered box, though the label has some handwritten modifications on the label so was likely replaced.
