10/2/19 - This is an original WWI era rifle bayonet. Known as a "butcher bayonet" this would be suitable for a Gew. 98 or similar style rifle. The bayonet comes with an original scabbard, though the scabbard appears to be missing a hook / knob for a leather frog. The scabbard has patina / discoloration throughout, as well as a dent on one side. The blade shows some light signs of use and perhaps light sharpening, as well as some dark oxidation in areas. The wood handle is excellent although the metal has dark discoloration and wear. Overall in good condition.
