2/24/17 - This is an early INLAND made carbine. Serial is a 5 digit, which are fairly hard to find. Barrel dated 8 - 42. Looks to have original 1942 configuration but may have been "put back" to original condition after the war. Barrel perhaps shows signs of once having the bayo lug, and it that is the case, then the sight would have been changed as well from adjustable back to original flip sight. To clarify, I have not messed with this carbine at all, just reporting my assessment on the gun. The stock has the military cartouche and on bottom of the grip I can see initials RI. Stock may have been sanded a bit as it is very smooth with no dings. Handguard has L-J on the underneath. Folding stock seems all original. The cheek pad also looks WW2 original. As you can see, the oiler wore a hole thru the leather which only adds to the authenticity. Assuming this is a correct paratrooper rifle but one that had some restoration parts to bring it back to original configuration, we are pricing it accordingly.
