12/20/19 - This is an original pre-WW1 production Luger holster. The holster is very rare because it was a prototype/test product made for the American Eagle Luger, with only 1,000 produced. The US Army was considering the Luger as the standard issue military pistol (we went with 1911 instead). This holster was made by Rock Island Arsenal, as stamped on the back leather. The leather is in great shape with minor cracking on the front flap, and an area of discoloration in the U.S. proof on the front. The hole in the closure strap was also modified slightly to make the hole bigger. Also, on the top bend in leather, where the back becomes the lid, there is some minor surface cracking. This cracking isn't very deep and doesn't go through the leather completely. There is very minimal cracking considering the age of this holster. The front closure flap has an inspectors proof that I can't quite make out. The stitching is all tight, original, and in tact. Guaranteed original and authentic.
