6/6/17 - This is an original WW2 production M1 Garand Rifle, complete with documentation proving where the rifle came from and how it came together. There are two documents with this rifle. The first explains that the rifle was purchased in 1980 from a Sheriff in Alabama. The sheriff bought it 20 years prior from a Navy Commander who served during WW2. The rifle was picked up in Belgium and brought back by the Commander after the war. The second document describes each part, marking, and stamp throughout the gun in detail. This document was made by the previous owner to help prove that the rifle hasn't been altered since returning home from Belgium after WW2. This documentation adds significant detail on the history and assembly of this rifle, thus adding a unique collector value. The rifle stock is original and has a faint cartouche and inspector stamp. The metal parts have some spotty discoloration, but overall the finish is in great shape with no rust or pitting. The rifle also comes with an original strap. The bore is in great shape as well with some minor residue but overall strong lands and grooves.
