7/9/19 - This six-shot revolver is a great example of the American classic Smith & Wesson M&P revolver, which later evolved into the model 10. Serial records date this gun to the 1950s, likely earlier in the decade. The “C” prefix to the serial number dates this revolver to between 1948 and 1968 when a transition was made to the “D” prefix. Based off the serial, this falls early in the range. It has a five inch barrel and is chambered for .38 S&W special. The gun is all original with 95+% lustrous blue remaining, showing minor muzzle and edge wear, and some finish loss on the cylinder. Strong, shiny bore and good timing/action. The original grips are present, as the right panel is matching numbered to the frame. They are sharp and in very good condition, with a few minor nicks and dings.
