6/2/21 - This is a nice example of a Walther PP sold in the commercial market in 1938. It is all matching and has the proper "Crown N" proofs. This one is scarce because it has a 5-digit serial number. There are only about 20 known wartime PPs with 5 digit serial numbers. The known serial number range is 98895 through 99997. There are estimated only 1k pistols made with a 5 digit serial number during WW2. It has retained roughly 75% of its original bluing. There is noticeable wear along the top of the slide, high edges of the slide, and around the muzzle. A hint of thinning on the straps. Tiny dots of oxidation throughout. Nice Walther grips - there is a separation crack on the left grip panel and some minor scuffing at the bottom. Comes with a wartime magazine. Mint bore.
