10/10/17 - This is a very nice, all original and hard to find Star Model B with Eagle/WaAD20 acceptance stamp on the right side tang. It is all correct with about 94% blue remaining. The slide and frame sides are excellent with only minor edge wear, but there is some browning and thinning on the front strap. The firm of Star Bonifacio Echeverria SA, located in Eibar, Spain, originated in 1905 but the factory was destroyed during the Spanish Civil War (1936-1939). It was rebuilt adjacent to the original site, and during WW2 it supplied about 25,000 pistols to the German Army in France. There are two serial ranges for these contracts, with this pistol falling correctly into the second batch and given an E/WaAD20 acceptance stamp. The grips are original and have no major cracks or chips. The magazine may be postwar, but not sure of that. It is unmarked with a phosphate finish. The bore has nice rifling but there is some frosting that may come out with a good cleaning.
