5/7/20 - This is a 3rd Model 1866 Winchester. It was made somewhere around 1874-75. It is an antique so there is no FFL needed for purchase. Comes in 44 caliber
rimfire. The wood stock is in very good condition. Not sanded and very few dings or bumps. On the barrel you see a very high percentage of original blue. Typically these guns will have little to no bluing left on them. There is a small nick in the barrel on both sides of the barrel, toward the back end. Otherwise, excellent. Looks like it was stored on a rack. The bore is exceptional, an 8 out of 10. These guns were shot with corrosive ammo so to have a bore in excellent condition is almost unheard of. Very nice brass receiver and butt stock. The loading gate still has the original fire bluing - just a bit faded. The action is tight and fully functional. An incredible example that does not come up for sale very often.
