3/3/18 - This is one of the rarest K98 variations in near-mint condition - the long rail sniper. This beautiful rifle is all matching and original, with a minty phosphated finish and long side rail scope mount. Out of the famed Putnam Green collection, this rifle was manufactured by Gustloff Werke (bcd) in 1944. LSR sniper rifles had a thicker left receiver wall milled at the factory to accommodate a long side rail scope base, which was attached with pins and screws. In addition, they had a checkered buttplate, a special modified sniper safety lever and a stock, specifically inletted for the scope base on the left side of the receiver. This rifle has all of the above characteristics and all the proper proof marks/waffentamts on the gun. The correct 4x scope is attached and marked 'bek' as well as DIALYTAN on the left side. The stock is in excellent condition with no cracks or notable chips. It is 'H' marked with a faint waffenamt on the right side stock. Includes cleaning rod and sight hood. Excellent bore.
