5/21/21 - This is a rare "G Date" Mauser K98 rifle issued to the Nazi military in 1935. Introduced during the early years of the Nazi Party's dominance of Germany, the code system was intended to obscure the scale and speed of German re-armament, and all correct G Date K98s are seldom available to the collector market. The date/factory code is "S/42G". The gun is mostly matching except for the barrel bands and stock. It has the proper early proofs throughout. The stock is numbered and has Luftwaffe proofs. Overall, the gun is in excellent condition. There is spotty oxidation throughout, though. The stock is nice with just minor dings and dents throughout. The gun comes with a correct cleaning rod and leather sling. The bore is near-mint.
