7/9/20 - This is a rare commercial/Navy DWM Luger Model 1906 with altered safety. This pistol began life as a Navy DWM Luger and was sent to the Dockyard at Wilhelmshaven as indicated by marking on back strap. Whether it went unused or was simply repurposed later, it was then sent back to DWM and sold commercially as indicated by the Germany export stamp on receiver. There were only 21,000 1906 Navy Lugers produced, and a relatively small fraction of that number was commercial or diverted. The pistol otherwise has correct Navy features, including Crown/M marks on receiver and the adjustable rear sight. The pistol is all matching, including the original grips. Left grip panel has the common chip under the safety. Rare Navy magazine is present but mismatched to the gun. Bluing is overall excellent on this pistol with most of the wear on the muzzle, sideplate and right side face of the receiver. There is some oxidation throughout, as well. Terrific bore. Pistol comes with a repro Navy holster.
