10/31/19 - This is a desirable Nazi issued K98 that was manufactured in 1944 with Steyr factory code on receiver. These rifles are reported as part of an SS contract order, and can be identified by the lack of letter suffix in the serial, lack of waffenamts, lack of consistency in placement of serial numbers on small parts, and oversized 'bnz' code on receiver which was used on receivers made at the Gusen concentration camp. The rifle has matching numbers on the bolt handle, safety and barrel but no other numbered parts. The original finish is in good condition with thinning/browning in several areas, most notably the barrel. Original sling and sight hood are present. Stock has standard wear from the last 75 years of handling, but no major cracks or chips. Bore has strong rifling but minor frost throughout.
