8/20/20 - This is an original, WW2 Mauser P.38 issued to the Nazi military in 1943. It is all matching and has the proper "Eagle 135" Nazi military acceptance proofs. It has the "byf 43" Mauser factory code. It is fully functional, including the de-cocker. There is very little actual finish loss - it has retained about 95% of its original dust blue finish. There is minor muzzle wear and a few areas of spotty wear, most noticeable on the left side of the barrel and one small spot on the left side of the slide. It is tough to grade the front strap - it appears a little thin, but it has relatively rough machining. There is some brown patina showing through. Excellent Mauser grips - just a couple of light scratches. It comes with a period-correct Mauser magazine. The bore has decent rifling, but there is very light pitting in the grooves.
