6/12/18 - This is an early first issue Olympic pistol made by High Standard around 1948, and chambered in .22 short. It retains nearly all of its original blue with minimal “box wear” on the front edges of the barrel and a couple of barely noticeable rub marks here and there, with about 99% of its original blue present. The gun has a heavy barrel that makes the pistol incredibly well balanced. The box is in excellent condition as well and has no markings. First issue Olympic was the first US made target gun that was able to compete with the likes of Olympia and Hammerli pistols and won the first ever gold medal for the US in rapid fire event in the Olympic competition in late 50s - early 60s. Truly, a flagship of the High Standard target pistol line, it is arguably the most collectible of them all, as only about 2,000 were made. Excellent, beautifully checkered thumbrest grips and bore.
