6/12/18 - This is a beautiful Hi-Standard Supermatic Trophy target pistol, chambered in .22LR and made in the early 60s. It is in 99% original condition and only has a few miniscule handling marks. The "Trophy" Hi-standard pistols of that era were finished to the highest standards (no pun intended) and were considered to be the "cadillacs" of the Hi-Standard line of target guns. Additionally, they were designed to look like "space guns" - the way the space guns were perceived to look at that time (think Flash Gordon). They sported long barrels and rear sight mounted on the rear of the barrel, not on the slide. The muzzle brake was machined integral to the barrel and gave the gun an even more futuristic appearance. The blueing on Trophy pistols was highly polished, almost to a mirror-like finish. Each gun came with a set of adjustable weights that could be moved along the length of the barrel to fit the shooter's needs. Grips were beautifully checkered and equipped with a very comfortable thumb rest. But above all, these were first class target guns, on par with the German Olympias and Swiss Hammerlies. It was, without a doubt, the best target gun made in the US. This particular pistol is in almost new condition and has a very desirable 8-inch barrel and both barrel weights. The bore and grips are mint. A superb example that begs to be taken to the range.
