3/1/18 - This is a mint example of an early Colt 1911 .45 US army pistol, made in early 1918. It still has “milled” finish, identical to the guns made in 1917. Only early 1918 guns had this type of finish, which eventually changed to less asthetically pleasing “black army” finish. This particular pistol is in near new condition with just a hint of wear on the right side of the slide where it rubs on the frame during the recoil. It is all correct, including the barrel and mint original grips. Bore is excellent as well. Nearly all blue is present on the grip straps. Sharp markings and inspector’s cartouche. It is a complete rig that includes an excellent condition 1918 dated holster. Virtually impossible to upgrade rig.
