7/3/20 - This is a rare and interesting Colt 1911 from World War I that was never inspected or serialized. Clawson's book talks briefly about this variation, but the Colt frame dates to about 1917. The slide is an 'A.J. Savage' production with the Colt patent and flaming bomb logo. The original finish is very nice with minor edge wear on the slide, and some browning/thinning of the straps. 'H' inspector mark on top of frame with minty Colt barrel that is 'P H' marked in the ejection port. Has an 'R' marked magazine from World War II. Excellent wood grips with just a bit of handling wear.
