7/23/18 - This is an early (six-digit) and original M1 Carbine, made by Inland (General Motors) in January of 1943. It is all original configuration with no sign of bayo lug, early rear flip site with 'S' marking, and 'S' marked rear site. The rifle features a high wood stuck with "I" sling cut slot. The sling well is correctly IO marked with flaming bomb. The same markings are on the inside of the hand guard. Early type 1 front barrel bad. The magazine is IW marked. The finish rates at 90+% with only minor thinning overall, and some finish loss at the muzzle. Excellent bore and original sling.
