5/9/17 - This is one of the better conditioned pre-WWI commercial 1908 model Lugers with about 97-98% of the original finish remaining, with the wear limited to the high points on the side plate, tips of the rails and the heel of the rear grip strap. There is no pitting anywhere and the finish is nice and deep. The bore is excellent. So are the grips. It is an all matching gun with correctly unnumbered grips and firing pin. The 1908 commercial models were counterparts of the 1908 military Lugers and, just as the early pre-war military P.08's, lacked the stock lug on the rear of the frame and were much more aesthetically pleasing than the later 1914 models. Only about 20,000 were made, compared to millions of the military guns. This is a great example of an early 1908 Luger that we got at a good price and are passing the savings to you.
