7/18/18 - This is an original late WW2 production Spreewerk P.38. The pistol is in the "v" block which is late 1944 production - and you can tell by the late war finish, rough machine marks throughout the frame and slide, and the cog hammer. These late war guns are hard to rate finishes of, because of the rough machine marks and thin factory finishes. This pistol has slide edge wear and muzzle wear. The left side of the slide has more significant machine marks and what looks like some surface scratching as well. We can't decipher whether this is more machining or a surface flaw / wear. The front strap has significant thinning and two dark spots of wear. The grip is original but has some sort of glue or old residue on some of the grooves. The magazine is properly stamped and original. The bore has strong rifling but there's patina and some roughness in the grooves. Guaranteed original and fully functional - priced to sell.
