5/10/18 - This is a Mauser made P,38 from 1945. These are fairly rare as they only made guns from January to April when the factory was taken over by Allied troops. It comes in the thin phosphate finish which gives these guns a rough but unique look, and make them highly sought after by collectors. All parts are matching and phosphate finish with the exception of the blued finish barrel, take down lever and perhaps the hammer (not sure). Even the magazine is phosphate, making it a very rare magazine. It is Spreewerke, jvd marked, and right side large U marked, only done in 1945. The bore is mirror with some light edge wear on the rifling. Overall a 9 out of 10. Also comes with the correct Mauser black plastic grips. Mechanically it works well. de-cocker functions properly. All original and authentic late war gun !
