10/20/21 - This is a nice example of an Arisaka Type 99 issued to the Japanese military late during WW2. It is all matching and has a peened mum stamp on the receiver. It has all the proper late-war features such as the rough machining marks, crude bolt handle, peep rear sight, crude cocking knob, and wood butt plate. It's hard to rate with this very late-war finish, but the bluing appears to be thin throughout. There is noticeable heavy oxidation throughout. The stock is nice, but there is a noticeable chip near the rear sight. The front handguard is very loose and rattles around. The bore is mint.
