9/27/21 - This is a nice example of a rare Mauser P.38 issued to the Nazi military in 1943. It is all matching and has the proper "Waffen 135" military acceptance proofs. It has a rare FN-made slide. What makes it even rarer is that it has a scarce all-phosphate finish. These finishes are difficult to rate by nature, but our best guess is that it has retained about 92%. There is minor thinning on the front strap, minor wear concentrated on the high edges and around the muzzle, and some areas of spotty discoloration (most noticeable on the left side of the slide). Comes with a period-correct Mauser magazine that has a phosphate bottom. Excellent black bakelite grips. The bore is near-mint. De-cocker is functional.
