9/24/21 - This is an excellent example of an excellent Remington Model 1903 rifle issued to the the US military in 1942. The receiver dates to July of 1942. The barrel is dated March of 1942, is marked "RA" for Remington, and has a flaming bomb military cartouche. The stock has a flaming bomb proof near the front barrel band. It also has "RLB" Remington inspector initials, a "P" proof on the wrist, and a "AAH1" marking on the left side, indicating it was reworked at the Augusta Arsenal. The gun is in excellent condition, retaining most of its parkerized finish. There is minor scratchy wear around the bore and some small areas of minor discoloration on the receiver. The stock is very nice with minor bruises, dings, and scratches throughout. Comes with an excellent 1944-dated leather sling. The bore is shiny with good rifling but does have some areas of minor pitting here and there.
