6/5/18 - This is an original Imperial WW1 Mauser model 1914. Made in 7.65mm most likely during 1914 or early 1915. Many of these were accepted into service by the Imperial Army and this one is such an example as evidenced by the small Imperial proof mark just ahead of the rear site. This pistol also has several crown/U firing proof stamps. The finish is excellent especially given the item's age. There's some bluing loss on the edges and near the muzzle. Also some normal wear on the front strap. Most of these WW1 era pistols are much more worn. Generally these smaller pistols would have been issued to an officer in the German Army. The bore is a little cloudy with normal use wear, overall an 8 out of 10. Strong rifling still. Guaranteed all original and fully functional.
