6/23/21 - This is a nice example of a rare Mauser P.38 issued to the Nazi military in 1942. It is a first-year Mauser production, where only 19,000 of these wer made, making it only slightly more common than the zero series or Nazi-marked svw 45's. This one is all matching, has the proper "Eagle 135" military proofs, and a dust-blue finish. It has retained roughly 85% of its bluing. Most of the wear is on the front strap. There are areas of minor thinning on the barrel and right side of the slide. Minor wear on the high edges of the slide and around the muzzle. There are minor pits here and there, tiny dots of oxidation on the slide and barrel. Patina on the front strap. Comes with excellent grips and a period-correct Mauser magazine. The bore has good rifling with pin-pricking throughout. De-cocker is functional.
