4/28/22 - This is an absolutely gorgeous and documented DCM Sales US Springfield M1D sniper rifle with M84 scope, mount, 4 prong flash hider, MRT 3-69 stamped leather cheek piece, sling, original basic issue cleaning accessories, AND the original DCM lottery winner paperwork. It also comes in the shipping box with plastic storage wrap numbered to both the rifle and the scope and US Government purchase correspondence. Excellent December of 1943 serial numbered Springfield receiver with 11-51 SA barrel with bright and shiny bore. The rifle looks about new as re-arsenaled for the DCM. The rifle and scope are excellent inside and out. All the accessories look new and unused. These were sold only if the shooting club member entered and was lucky enough to be selected as a lottery winner. The M1Ds were all made from existing stocks of M1 rifles, utilizing new SA barrels (usually 1951/52 dated) with a mix of other parts. P Proof on the stock wrist. SA marked bolt, barrel, receiver, trigger guard assembly, and stock. The accessories are all still new in the military wrap (each package has been opened for inspection purposes only). The US M84 scope has crisp clear optics and has excellent blue finish. Scope adjusts properly. This one appears to have seen no service use after completing M1D program rebuild. Rifle, M84 scope, US Government paperwork, shipping box, accessories shipped with the rifle and all are tied together through documented part/serial numbers on the DCM Program purchase & shipping paperwork/box. Simply an untouched, well documented US Garand sniper rifle time capsule for the discriminating collector. Hard to upgrade this beautiful M1D package.
