1/23/23 - This is a very nice example of a scarce AC 45 Walther P.38 issued to the Nazi military in 1945. What makes this one scarce is the capital "A" suffix in the serial numbers throughout. Only about 5,000 guns feature this oddity. It is believed that, for a short period of time in 1945, the lower case "a" die was broken or unavailable, so the Walther factory was forced to use the capital "A". This one is all matching and has the proper "Eagle 359" military acceptance proofs throughout. It comes as a rig with a mint 1944-dated pebble grain holster, a scarce end-of-war "U" marked magazine, and an un-marked spare magazine. The gun itself has a mixture of phosphate and blued parts and a cog-style hammer (all correct for these end-of-war guns). It has retained about 90% of its original finish. The majority of the wear is on the front strap with some light wear on the top of the barrel through the ejection port. Fitted with nice black plastic grips. Mint bore. De-cocker is functional.
