8/2/22 - This is a scarce Colt Model 1909 revolver issued to the US military in 1911. It is "United States Property" marked on the barrel and has the proper "RAC" military acceptance proof on the cylinder. It is all matching except for the cylinder release. It has retained roughly 75% of its original bluing. Generally, there is thinning in the finish, spotty brown patina, and pin-pricking covering the whole gun. An obvious "X" scratched into the right side of the frame. Comes with nice wood grips - a few small bruises on both sides. Original lanyard ring is intact. The cylinder is tight and the action is smooth. The bore has great rifling with some minor freckling throughout.
