10/11/21 - This is a very nice example of an Arisaka Type 99 rifle issued to the Japanese military during WW2. The gun is completely matching, but unfortunately the mum stamp on the receiver has been ground off. It has retained most of its original bluing, but there is minor scratchy wear around the muzzle and on the barrel bands, thinning on the floor plate, and spotty oxidation throughout. The butt plate has heavy brown patina. There are some areas of very light surface rust. Tiny white paint dots on the bolt handle and at the top of the butt plate. The wood stock is intact with minor dings, dents, and scratches throughout. The initials "RLC" are scratched into the right side of the butt stock. The gun comes with an original cleaning rod. The bore is near-mint - shiny with strong rifling.
