10/22/21 - This is an excellent example of a rare Mauser P.38 assembled by the French using leftover Nazi parts in 1946. This one is rare because it has an "L" block serial number. This one is especially unusual because the L suffix appears on the slide and left side of the frame near the trigger guard. We usually only see the serial on the underside of the tang - the serial number on this one does appear on the underside of the tang as well but its very faint and almost not visible. The serial number also appears on the top of the safety lever - another unusual characteristic. We believe the finish on this one has been professionally restored, so the gun has a very nice look. There is one small spot of wear on the front strap and minor wear on the front edges of the slide and around the muzzle. A few very light streaks of wear on the top of the barrel through the ejection port. The gun comes with desirable French "grey ghost" grips and a scarce "u" marked magazine (not waffen proofed). The bore is excellent - shiny with strong rifling. De-cocker is functional. Standard Interams import mark on underside of slide.
