12/9/21 - This is a beautiful example of an engraved Smith & Wesson No. 3 revolver. All numbered parts are matching. It also has a nickel-plated finish and is equipped with excellent real ivory grips. The entire gun features an intricate floral engraving pattern. It is likely this work was done in England, as there are small British proofs on the barrel, frame, and cylinder. There are a few small areas where the nickel-plating is flaking on the underside of the frame, here and there along the barrel, and on the grip straps. While there is very little actual finish loss, there is spotty oxidation along the barrel. Light roll mark on the cylinder. Excellent case-hardening intact on the hammer. Comes with factory special-ordered target sights. The cylinder is tight and the action is smooth. The bore is mint.
