3/14/19 - This is an original 1903 Springfield rifle from WW1 that has been converted and rearsenaled into a sniper rifle. The rifle has been fitted with a Lyman Super Targetspot scope (12 power). Rifles similar to this one were state of the art for 1940s competition rifle teams. The rifle is built upon a double heat treated, nickle steel mark 1 receiver. The barrel is 1919 dated and matches the receiver in finish (the barrel markings are very faint). The stock is a CMP C stock with vintage replacement upper handguard. Stock is excellent but not period correct. Vintage Lyman Super Targetspot scope has very fine cross hairs but excellent optics. The bore is 7/10 with strong rifling but patina throughout - some honest wear and signs of use but not excessive.
