A WWII Mauser Kriegsmarine to Remember

WWII Era HSC

WWII Era HSC

Hey guys, and welcome to another walk-in Wednesday. I have a really cool gun to show you today. I think you're going to like it. This one did walk in recently, and what makes it special first of all it's in the HSC World War II era, HSC. We've probably shown you these before done other videos on HSCs. What makes this one really special is that it was issued to the Kriegsmarine that symbol is the Kriegsmarine the M on the bottom stands for marine, which is Navy, War Navy Kriegsmarine.

How can you Tell if your HSC is a Kriegsmarine Gun?

How can you Tell if your HSC is a Kriegsmarine Gun

When we look at all of the access pistols there's very few that we can actually say for sure that they went to the Navy or they went to the Army we do know guns that were Luftwaffe contract, and we've talked about those before but there's very few guns that we actually know went to the Navy now they did go to the Navy because they had to send guns to the Navy, but we have a hard time figuring out which ones went to the Navy the Mauser HSC is an example of a gun that has a Navy marking, and we know for sure it went to the Navy, so that makes this gun pretty special it's one of my favorites one of my personal favorites just because you're able to track it to the Kriegsmarine.

On top of that many of these went to submarines they're smaller they went to officers there's no way to prove it except if you have documentation I do have a gun that was captured from a U-Boat with documentation that particular gun I bought on auction and I sold it to a guy for about $10,000 because it was tracked to a particular U-Boat, in fact, it was U-2-3-4  right at the end of the war. I wish I could get that one back; I wish I hadn't sold it, but it's gone. This one went to the Kriegsmarine we know from the marking, which makes us a special gun. It also came in this holster, which you'll notice the holster is Mark Mauser because it's a Mauser HSC, and it also has a Kriegsmarine marking right here.

So the holster and the gun go together, making a very interesting combo. Now, the predecessor to the HSC was the Mauser 1934 patent date is 1934 the HSC patent date was more like 1939-1940. These also were Kriegsmarine marked; I have two of these just to show you a sample; you'll see that closed Wing Eagle on this 1934 and one other Style as for your own education; this is called the stick Wing. You'll see a stick wing with an M and this one with a closed Wing. The HSC has the later variation close Wing Eagle.
