12/16/21 - This is an early example of a Winchester Model 1892 Lever action rifle, manufactured in the first year of production, 1892. The gun is all matching and fully functional. The original finish has been covered in what looks like a black paint. There is spotty wear in this finish throughout. There are some areas where the original finish is visible underneath, mostly around the receiver. In the areas where the original finish is visible, you can see that it is mostly worn and covered in brown patina. There are a couple of small spots of heavy oxidation on the butt plate. The stock is nice, just minor dings and scratches throughout. The rifling in the bore is a bit worn with areas of minor pitting throughout. The action is very smooth.
