5/13/22 - What an awesome piece of history! This is a 1944 Inland M1 Carbine equipped with an original M3 Infrared Sniper Scope and flash hider. These scopes were originally manufactured in mid to late 1944, employed in very limited numbers during WWII with almost all of them being used during the Korean war. These infrared scopes (the M2 and M3) were the first true night vision scopes used by the U.S. Army, that eventually lead to the later "Starlight" scope developed during the Vietnam war. This particular rig came to us in non-working condition and was carefully restored to working condition by an expert gun smith. The "guts" of the power pack were replaced, and it was given a brand-new battery. It is now fully functional! The optics are a little cloudy and out of focus, but it could probably be dialed-in a lot more. There is a tiny reticle, but it is a little difficult to see. This rig comes with the original scope, original scope case, power pack, new battery, power pack carrying case, a modern battery charger, several spare infrared bulbs, several spare fuses, owners manual, and the original power pack "guts". It also comes with one WW2-era magazine. The gun itself was made by Inland and has an "RIA" arsenal marking on the stock. Comes fitted with a bayonet lug. The gun itself is excellent. Near-mint bore. This particular gun was featured in one of our Youtube videos. For more detailed information on the restoration process and a demo on how it works, visit the link below!
