11/7/17 - This is a late WW1 production US military rifle bayonet. Used on the M1903 Springfield rifle, and then later re-used in WW2 for the M1 Garand. The blade comes with the original scabbard, which is remarkable that these two stayed together after almost 100 years! The scabbard has a leather exterior and is stamped "R.I.A. and appears to have a 1907 date! Very scarce and hard to find! The stitching is all in tact, and besides the "A" scratched into either side, the leather is excellent as well. The wood hanlde has some light surface wear as well, but no cracks or chips. The blade has some light surface wear, but no rust or serious scratches. There are no signs of sharpening. One side of the blade is marked "US 337047" and the reverse side is R.I.A. maker stamped with a flaming bomb and 1918 date. Guaranteed all original and authentic.
