7/9/20 - This is an excellent Walther Olympia Jaeger Pistol made in the late 1930's. The original design was actually developed for use by the German Olympic team who used it during the 1936 Berlin Olympics. Germany won both the Gold & Silver medals in the 25 meter Rapid Fire Pistol matches during those games. The Olympia is a single-action, blow-back pistol with an internal hammer and push-button magazine release. This is the short-barreled "Hunter" version of the Olympia pistol, introduced in 1937 to comply with new German firearms regulations which stipulated what type of firearm a hunter was allowed to carry in the woods. It is chambered for the .22 Long Rifle and has a 4-5/8" barrel. This example has retained about 97-98% of its original bluing and still has the matching, numbered magazine. There is minor high point wear but very little bluing loss overall. There is some oxidation on the front strap though. Mint bore and excellent two-piece grips.
