12/20/17 - This is an original Walther K43 Sniper Rifle from WW2. The rifle come with an original mount and ZF 4 scope. The mount is las etched "6744" and waffen WaA359 Walther proof stamped (correct for this rifle). The scope has original brackets and the rubber eye cup looks original as well (notice the white mildew, this is a natural sign of aging). Finding the original rubber completely in tact is very rare. The optics are crisp and clear. The rifle metal is serial numbered 1566 and 1566d on the receiver, along with Walther 359 proof stamps. The barrel has some surface wear and some light spotting / patina. There is also some reddish discoloration that is normal wear on the metal, but not rust. The biggest and most notable flaw on this sniper rifle is the wood stock. The stock is obviously sanded and shellaced. There are still remnants of the serial number and waffen eagle proof stamps on the underside of the wood though. The magazine is original and stamped "K43" "aye" and has a waffen eagle WaA843 military proof stamp. The bore is very nice with strong rifling and only minor patina, we conservatively rate at an 8/10. Priced to sell based on the stock alterations.
