7/18/19 - This is a super rare example of a military contract “wartime commercial” Mauser Broomhandle rig, made in 1917-1918. In addition to ordering “Red 9” Mausers that were chambered in 9mm, the German Army also ordered a number of C96 pistols in .30 Mauser. All were marked with an imperial acceptance stamp on the right side of the chamber. What makes this gun unique is an additional Prussian Eagle stamp on the bottom of the trigger guard - identical to the Prussian Eagle marking stamped on the front of the magazine well on the Prussian contract “Red 9”. Only a couple such guns have been reported by the collectors, and this is one of them. The gun is all matching, including grips and an excellent condition stock with no cracks or other defects. It retains 97-98% of its original blue, with a hint of high edge wear, and with vivid fire blue still present on the small parts. Excellent bore and grips. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to acquire such a rare variation!
