1/21/21 - This is a gorgeous example of an early Walther P.38 rig, manufactured in 1941, with the original matching magazine. The high polish finish rates at about 96-97% with minor edge wear on the slide, but an excellent front strap. The grips and small parts are all waffen proofed. The grips are in excellent condition, as is the original matching magazine. The bore has strong rifling but some frosting throughout. The de-cocker does not work on this one but this is very common for early P.38's. The spare magazine is the correct numbered variation but mismatched to the gun. The rig is complete with a scarce '41 hardshell holster. It's 'cgu' maker marked and in excellent condition. The inside of the holster has a label with the name 'Capt. Sidney C Peterman CoH 87th Mtn Inf' on it. Presumably the American GI that captured the gun, perhaps more info can be found on him.
