5/25/18 - Switzerland was the first country to adopt the Luger as a military sidearm with its contract purchase of the Model 1900 from DWM. Once WWI started DWM could no longer supply Switzerland with Lugers so the Swiss firm of Waffenfabrik Bern produced its own version of the Model 1906. This pistol is one of the Swiss made copies of the German Model 1906. Approximately 17,000 of these pistols were manufactured for the Swiss military and were most likely produced between 1918 and 1933. This Luger has fixed sights, with a blank chamber and the top of the toggle marked with a Geneva Cross over "WAFFENFABRIK / BREN". The right side of the barrel extension has a small Geneva Cross with the reverse having a boxed "+ / M" Colonel Muhlemann proof and a "BP". Full serial number on barrel and front of frame with a small Geneva Cross on the barrel.   The finish on this one rates at about 95% with some thinning to the sideplate, grip safety and bottom of front strap.  The grips are unique in that they are checkered with smooth borders on the front and rear edges and are numbered to the gun.  Minty bore.
