3/3/18 - This is one of the best conditioned Winchester Model 12 Trench shotguns that we have seen. All original with beautiful high-polished blue in mid-90s condition, excellent stock with sharp and all original cartouches, all original bayonet lug/heat shield, and beautiful bore. The gun was made in 1943 and has a 43 dated barrel with crisp flaming bomb and a Winchester oval proof on top. The receiver is marked with U.S. on the right side and shows just the lightest of wear. Has a few tiny spots of discoloration on the left side with no thinning of the finish and no pitting anywear. The stock is equally nice with original buttplate and sling swivel. Inspector’s cartouche and the Arsenal ordnance wheel are sharp and absolutely original. The heat shield shows some dulling to the finish, essentially protecting the barrel from any significant wear. Barrel is correctly marked “cyl”. Bayonet lug is correctly unmarked and all original as well. These guns were taken out of the Winchester commercial production and have the same deep, lustrous blue as their commercial counterparts. Most were heavily used in WWII and subsequently in the Korean War, so finding a pristine example like this is next to impossible.
