4/1/22 - This is a matching and original Army S&W Model 1917 revolver from the end of the Great War. The original blue rates at 90+% with most of the wear on either side of the barrel. There is also a small gouge mark on the right side of the barrel, and some pitting on the left. Rear grip strap also has a little bluing loss. Flaming bomb on frame with "UNITED STATES PROPERTY" marked barrel. Good mechanics. Each grip panel has a small chip. The bore has good rifling but there is a large, deep gouge in the barrel and we aren't sure what could've caused it. Also not certain how it would impact the shootability of this revolver.
