5/21/19 - This is an original Winchester model 1897 Trench Shotgun made during WW2. This shotgun was produced in 1943 and comes with the original factory shroud and bayonet lug. The shotgun is original and rates at about 85% blue, with evenly spread wear on the receiver and barrel, as well as some freckling on the receive. Correct 4-row handguard/heat shield An original but unmarked canvas sling is also included. The receiver has the U.S. and flaming bomb ordnance proof on one side of the receiver. The wood stock is excellent and properly cartouche stamped with a G.H.D inspector proof. However the inspector stamp is so crisp and clear that it could have been re-stamped. Cant say for sure. Overall excellent collector trench shotgun. Smooth action, fully functional. Nice, original sling. Also note that the front sling swivel was professionally replaced/reinforced, which was a very common issue with these shotguns.
